/Shift/ dance company is a contemporary-focused, bi-co dance group. We were founded with the intention to offer intense training, opportunities to choreograph and perform, and a close-knit dance community to committed dancers at Haverford and UUÖ±²¥s. We meet 8-12 hours/week for ballet, modern, and contemporary technique classes and rehearsals consisting of classes taught by group members. We also take advanced ballet and modern classes from the Bryn Mawr Dance Department. We either host or perform in a dance concert on Haverford's campus each semester featuring big and small group pieces and solos. Though our primary goal is to offer a dance company where dancers can maintain and build their technique through rigorous rehearsals, we value creating a strong dance community within the bi-co, and we hold frequent social activities outside the studio. Our membership is determined by audition, and we accept new members at the beginning of each academic semester.
