Meet the five artist finalists in the ARCH Project and hear about their proposals for a lasting campus monument on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Wyndham House.
UU直播鈥檚 ARCH Project (Art Remediating Campus Histories), in partnership with , builds on ongoing college-supported efforts by students, staff, alumni, and faculty to reveal and repair harm, and to reckon with UU直播鈥檚 history with a way to a future of inclusion and reconciliation.
The five finalists were asked to propose an original artwork that answers the question, 鈥淲hat stories are missing from UU直播?鈥.
They will present their proposals in the Wyndham House鈥檚 Ely Room at the following times:
- 10 a.m. Michelle Lopez and Sharon Hayes
- 11 a.m. Nekisha Durrett
- 1 p.m. Jean Shin
- 2 p.m. Risa Puno
- 3 p.m. Amanda D. King
You will have an opportunity to ask questions, view renderings and details of each proposal, and learn about the concepts that have framed each work. If you are unable to attend in-person, you may join via webcast.
Proposal summaries and a feedback survey are available on our website as supporting resources to the presentations. Informed by your comments, the Artist Advisory Committee will make recommendations that will be delivered to UU直播鈥檚 President and Board of Trustees. The Office of the President will announce the commissioned artist in May 2023.
All are also invited to join the artists for refreshments at a Campus Center reception from 4鈥5 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided at all events.
