Bryn Mawr Mathematicians John Bergdall (Assistant Professor), Lindsay Dever (Graduate Student), and Djordje Mili膰evi膰 (Associate Professor) attended the at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The conference was held from March 6-10, 2019. Mili膰evi膰 was a co-organizer of the workshop.
John Bergdall, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, gave his talk His talk presented ongoing research into p-adic families, a group of theoretical mathematical families whose existence have recently been challenged, despite predictions of their existence through numerical experimentation in the 1990's. Bergdall's talk discussed recent theoretical attempts to salvage what remains of a debunked theory.
